Spring Summer 2012 Collection Preview – Christopher Kane

Indomitable Flux writer Charlotte Davey braved the frenzied chaos that is London Fashion Week to bring us the best and most inspiring of the Spring Summer 2012 collections on display. Sorting the wheat from the chafe was no mean feat but after a bit of brutal editing here is our final selection. Our next 2012 collection to feature is Christopher Kane.

The SS12 2012 collection by Christopher Kane’s went down an absolute storm with every fashion editor in the land. Inspired by a picture of girls in council estate bedrooms, with peeling stickers adorning the walls, proving that inspiration can come in the most unlikely places, Kane presented a chic, laid back, effortless woman. The collection was positive, light, with brocade embellishment, appliquéd flowers and sequin trim, and also showed his collaboration with J Brand, which featured denim cut offs with floral designs. The whole show proved that Christopher Kane is a totally original designer, and a true asset to London fashion.

The element that really stood out for this collection was the relaxed attitude Kane had. There was no elaborate couture or costume stylization; a completely wearable collection that is sure to see itself across the nation this Summer.
