In a perfume world where the transitory summer fragrance season often means the same summer scent released in an updated bottle each year, Stella McCartney’s Sheer always presents a brand new girl every May. Perhaps this is due to the success of the original Stella McCartney perfume, but with Stella Sheer you actually do get a brand new fragrance.
For 2011, the Sheer Stella fragrance is inspired by a fleeting moment in a country garden. Like the original Stella, this is a natural, fresh yet sophisticated fragrance. Feminine and light for summer. The roses are a mixture of Bulgarian rose enriched for 2011 by a rose variety that has been cultivated in the Persian mountains for over 500 years – an evocative image in itself. The result is a lovely summer fragrance with the rose’s plum and grape enveloping the rose heart, lemon and green apple providing more zest than previous Sheer Stellas, and a sensual amber base. And of course being Stella McCartney, the growing environment has been taken into account with the Persian roses grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers on Ecocert-certified cooperatives in Iran.
The glass bottle is beautifully cut, encased in transparent dusty pink roses. Pretty and feminine, this is a floral limited edition that should not be missed for all lovers of rose perfumes.
