Teva and X-Girl: Futuristic Sandal Style

Los Angeles based X-girl meets pioneering sandal creators, Teva, in a third collaboration producing a limited edition, futuristic style for their Hurricane XLT sandals.

Perfect for luxurious summer breaks or more rugged adventures, Teva sandals made their first humble appearance in 1984 when a Grand Canyon river guide attached an old Velcro watch strap to a flip flop. Eureka.

 

 

Teva sandals were born and they are, I can testify, super comfortable as well as great to look at with their minimal chunky straps and range of soles from platforms to sports. Equally wearable on the beach or for trekking inland, Teva are the original sports sandal pioneers with pieces crafted to be accessible, versatile and a celebration of the independent spirit that forged the brand.

The partnership with X-girl, well known for their streetwear, bright colours and progressive styling, has resulted in some exclusive footwear that has been super popular especially in Japan. The third collaboration between the two launched this summer has resulted in an edition of the Hurricane XLT with graphic prints on the webbing of the sandal in the form of the unique ‘Galaxy’ print that also appears on the X-girl SS15 collection. The purple accents give this limited edition style a futuristic and ultra-modern feel with a unique incorporation of the asymmetrical label: the Teva logo is on the left sandal and the X-girl logo on the right.

The Teva X-girl collaboration seamlessly combines street wear with an active lifestyle, with X-girl’s daring style complementing the free world of Teva.
