Blyszak Eyewear: Ethical Horn Rimmed Glasses Collection

Uniquely produced from ethically sourced horn in contemporary shapes, we’re loving the sleek, slim circles of the Blyszak eyewear collection.

Launched this summer, Blyzszak eyewear was envisioned by Creative Director and Londoner, Andrew Blyszak, who after a year researching the global market, developed a single frame shape and a quality of production that it’s impossible not to fall for. Especially when you look at what the frames are made of; powder-coating, grade-A steel and laser-cut hand-polished horn by-product come together to form a signature collection comprising of one style in seven variations.

Real horn rimmed glasses are something very special. With the Blyszak Eyewear collection, the frames are a distinctive mix of steel and either dark Asiatic water buffalo, blonde Asiatic water buffalo or Nigerian oxen, all certified as 100% ethically sourced by-product. The production sees the horn being laser cut and hand shaped in the UK. The process is carried out by London manufacturer Edward Gurcewicz, who is uniquely skilled in working with horn. The horn is shaped using a precision technique that requires specialist training and is extremely rare in an acetate-dominated marketplace.

Go for frames in metal, a metal and horn mix, or 100% horn refined by laser cut techniques. Lenses are black with a UV filter. The use of horn makes every pair one of a kind due to the unique coloring and texture of the material.

It’s a confident, and intrepid eyewear collection launch, with the Blyszak collection campaign shot by photographer and art director Paul Jung. There is no doubt this collection is aimed directly at a visually and fashionably astute audience.

The Blyszak Eyewear Collection can now be viewed online at www.blyszakeyewear.com and found in-store at Grange Hall (Dallas), LN-CC.com (London), Ne.Sense (Taipei), nr.9 (Oslo), mameg (LA) and The Store x Soho House (Berlin).
