I’d never been to Bryon Burger before so when we invited to go and try out the Hellfire Bryon Burger created to celebrate Halloween it seemed a good chance to put that right and give it a try.
The Manchester Byron is in Piccadilly Gardens which can be hectic so I was a bit wary of how it might feel to eat there. As soon as we entered inside though any such concerns evaporated. We were met by a calm pleasant host who asked us where we’d like to sit. We chose a little booth in the centre of the restaurant. The atmosphere in the place was relaxed and laid back but the service was attentive – friendly but unobtrusive. They put candles out on the tables and the place was nicely lit with subdued lighting. It seemed like a modern British take on a classic American diner from yesteryear – pulled into 2022.
Of course I opted for the Hellfire burger. This was their signature 6oz party with crispy bacon, pickled red onions and a spicy siracha mayo and Korean style hot sauce. As lover of all things spice it gave a nice zing to a very good quality burger. We were asked how we’d like the burger cooked beforehand which was a good move.. My fellow diners opted for a double chicken burger and the traditional Byron burger. It all went down well. The side dishes of sweet potato and skin-on fries were both crispy and tasty and the green salad side was nice and fresh with a moreish dressing.
Other diners in the restaurant seemed smiley and relaxed. If just had a feel of a well run, relaxed and well thought out sort of place. You could see the outside world rushing frantically by outside the window but inside was a picture of calm and great burgers.
The Hellfire Byron Burger is available from the 18th October – 1st November in all Byron restaurants and via delivery – £12.25
