Red Wing Shoes Hand-Sewn Collection – Video by Tenue de Nîmes

by Fiona Shaw

Tenue de Nîmes is more than just a cool Amsterdam clothes store. It has a whole philosophy woven around it. They have a passion for clothes and how and what they are made from is important to them. They have a long association with Red Wing Shoes and to celebrate the launch of their hand-sewn collection Tenue de Nimes have released a video that aims to highlight the history and craftsmanship that lies behind the Red Wing brand.

Red Wing Shoes are based in Maine which was once America’s footwear capital and has a long and illustrious history of shoemaking that goes back to the mid 1800s. A few companies still stay true to that tradition keeping the legacy alive. Red Wing Shoes have been a part of this history since 1905. The leather boots they carefully construct are famous the world over for their indestructible quality. The company is strict about using its own leather which is made, as are the shoes themselves, in the town of Red Wing on the banks of the great Mississipi. Though world renowned for its work-wear, fashion lovers have Red Wing for decades now and they are most-have items for street savvy fashionistas in Europe, the US and Japan.

The video has been put together by Tenue de Nîmes to show how quality and style are natural bedfellows and how the love, care and craftsmanship that goes into very Red Wing shoe and boot shines through in the finished product.
