If backpacks make you nostalgic for school days, it’s probably a good thing that Case Logic are around to bring them Back to the Future! After all, the 1980s is the source of the inspiration behind the brand that has been carrying your technology and entertainment with you since 1984.
Remember tape cassettes? Those plastic winders that were the genre of choice for recording your favourite tunes from the radio in the 1980s – so long as you could handle the ‘fade to DJ chatter’ at the end of every song. It was a battle to press ‘Record’ and ‘Stop’ at just the right moment in the post cut and paste days.
It was the clatter of tape cassettes in the back seat of his car that first inspired Case Logic founder, Jamie Temple, whilst driving on a Colorado ski trip. Realising the music on the back seat wasn’t enjoying the ride as much as he was, he crafted two novel audio cassette storage cases to solve the problem, and Case Logic was born.
The CL 15 was a soft-sided case that held 15 audiocassettes, and a second product was soon added. Color options were introduced, and Case Logic went from startup to full-fledged enterprise. Music may have changed, technology has evolved, and the word “mobile” has taken on a whole new meaning, but the core of Case Logic’s philosophy remains the same: it should be easy to bring your electronics and entertainment everywhere you go. Their range now covers briefcases to laptop backpacks, tablet cases to laptop sleeves, and messenger bags to camera bags.
