Online shopping has become the way that many of us to get the stuff we need to live our lives.
But imagine if, when you clicked on that cherished item, it would set in play a relay run across Europe as a dedicated team made it their responsibility to deliver your beloved product to your door? Well this is exactly what happened when one lucky person ordered a pair of Diadora Italian made N9000 trainers.
Yes, online shopping is very useful and means you can often get items you can’t lay your hands on in a local store but it can be a bit of a dry activity. That’s why Diadora decided to bring back some joy into the shopping experience. The whole idea of the Makeitbright campaign is to make an everyday occurrence into something epic. They wanted the simple fact of ordering a pair of their shoes to be turned into a full-on adventure. The relay run itself covered 1500 km across three countries over the dramatic terrain of southern Europe from their base in Milan to the customer’s home in Barcelona.
They put the call out for people to get involved and many took up the challenge. Amazingly runners from 10 countries ranging from the age 19 up to 56 chose to take part in the Diadora relay team. Anyone interested could keep track of the package as it changed hands and was carried across Europe. It built up quite an audience with live updates, social chat and live broadcasts as the shoes made their way to their new owner.
The expression on the face of the recipient as the package is delivered to them in person and they then get to hear the story behind that delivery was quite a picture.
The word Diadora comes from Greek meaning “to share gifts and honours”. Diadora are well known and respected throughout the world as an Italian brand that stands for authenticity, innovation and craftsmanship.
