Throughout Dr. Martens’ history, the brand has been adopted and subverted by countless free-thinking individuals, subcultures and tribes.
Over the past two years Dr. Martens’ has celebrated these authentic wearers who bring the shoes and boots to life, through their #STANDFORSOMETHING campaign, and now they are looking for fans in Manchester to appear in the next campaign.
In AW14 Dr. Martens used real people from across the UK and the recently launched SS15 campaign recognises the brand’s global appeal with individuals from New York, Berlin and London – alongside Sam from Newcastle who was found following a character search in 2013.
Amy Nelson, Dr. Martens UK Retail Marketing Manager, said “Dr. Martens has a worldwide following from those who have worn them since their rebellious teenage years to new emerging fans that see them as the ultimate fashion statement.
“#STANDFORSOMETHING is a campaign all about these people, their lives and their beliefs – what they stand for. We are looking for more individuals that stand for something and we know from our stores across the UK, including the Manchester store on Market Street, there is a real diversity of people who wear Docs with passion and pride.
“The campaign represents real DMs’ wearers of all different ages, backgrounds, occupations and personalities with a common trait of standing for something. We believe that our North West fans should be part of it.”
If you are a Dr. Martens fan who stands for something and want the opportunity to attend a campaign casting, send your photo with your name, age, address, occupation and ‘what I stand for’ statement to DMS@opr.co.uk. The deadline for casting submissions is 31st May 2015.
