Epic journey from Holland to Manchester – Bavaria launches in the UK – words Al Woods
In the home of Bavaria – the premium Dutch pilsner – an important task is given to an enthusiastic but slightly befuddled courier. He must take a pint of their famous beer on a long trek from their historic brewery in Holland to Manchester.
Our hapless hero takes on the challenge and pint of beer in hand begins on his epic adventure. Nothing will stop him not even the sea. He swims the channel holding beer proudly aloft and walks up onto the beach on the other side. He finally makes it to Manchester.
It seems strange to say this but the premise of the campaign that Bavaria beer will be available on draft for the first time of the brewery’s 300-year history is true. Why has it taken so long is the question?
When our hero eventually sits down after his epic trial he’s devastated when one of the thirsty locals drinks his sacred pint of beer. He needs a pint himself after that and so heads to the nearest bar. He is delighted though when he realises that his beloved Bavaria is served on draught in Manchester finally after centuries.
