Prada Candy is the new Eau de Parfum launch – well launched September – for girls who like a bit of excess. This is an intense fragrance. Its perfume is intoxicatingly sweet and feminine. We’d say one for fans of musky scents for girls.
This is one that will grow on you – Prada Candy is indulgent thanks to its main ingredients of White Musk and Benzoin – a resin from the Laotian styrax tree. There is a lot of Benzoin in here – 12% – which results in an addictive, warm scent. And the surprise ingredient is Caramel – which adds a playful, delicious note.
The Prada Candy packaging is inspired by vintage bottles. Reminiscent of 1950s movie style, or a startlingly pink Art Deco New York skyscraper – with a tall straight glass bottle topped by a spherical golden crown. Shocking pink with gold lettering. The stylish cartoon character on the box is all 1950s starlet. Couple that with a dancing French star in the advertising campaign – actress Lea Seydoux as an impulsive piano student – the images portray a passionate, strutting woman.
Prada Candy could be the feminine launch of the autumn – appealing, seductive and fierce.
Prada Candy Eau de Parfum is available on counters now in 30ml (£40), 50ml (£53) and 80ml (£71).
