PUMA x Solange work Wild Wonders, bringing to life a new capsule collection of graphic eyecatching trainers.
In a bit of a genius collaboration, PUMA named Solange creative consultant for the trainer brand last year, with the first ‘Girls of Blaze’ collection practically selling out in the summer.
Now we see Solange bringing a touch of razzle dazzle to PUMA’s seasonal themes, “Wild Rebel” and “Natural Calm.” It seems that the singer, songwriter and influencer (a bit more than just Beyoncé’s kid sister) also has an eye for surrounding herself with amazing talent, enlisting her creative army of friends to contribute to the design of the new collection.
Solange collaborators, Gerlan Marcel of GERLAN JEANS; visual artist, musician, and photographer Hisham Bharoocha; and Darlene and Lizzy Okpo, design team for the women’s wear collection William Okpo, have each created their own unique interpretation of the seasonal themes.
Taking their cues from two iconic PUMA styles, the classic PUMA Suede and the XT2+, which is a much loved favourite from the Trinomic Family, we see the fingers of the cool crowd all over these design. Graphics, a mix of materials and colours or natural fabrics were utilised to create a collection with a theme that is literally cool – with the key colour being a vivid blue warmed with lime green. Add to this mono swirled soles and green mesh, or bright pink and gold leather, or all over prints on the PUMA Suede – and you have an extremely eyecatching graphic collection bound to be popular on the street of the dancefloor.
