We’re looking forward to our event How Not To Start A Magazine on Tuesday 16th October, and hope you can make it down. Lee and Claire will be heading a workshop which we hope will turn into a lively discussion for anyone interested in setting up a creative blog, magazine or website or getting their work published.
We’ll reveal all on the ups and downs of independent publishing and lift the lid on a few myths. It should be of great interest to anyone who’s interested in what is happening in publishing and the indie press including how digital publishing is creating waves through the entire industry right now. We’ll be playing a selection of music that inspired the magazine and handing out some of our favourite back issues of Flux Magazine for people to take away if they wish. We’ll also be conducting a 40 minute portfolio speed session where we’ll be looking at creative portfolios of work and giving opinions and advice whether it be on photography, design or the written word.
How Not To Start a Magazine is our part of Kopparberg’s ün-establishment, a series of events, explorations and workshops taking place in Manchester and London celebrating independent culture and including fashion, music, art, design and even creative cuisine.
