We thought you’d appreciate a soundtrack to the summer to suit this mood and we may just have found it via a recent poll from community-run network giffgaff, of the nation’s favourite songs for summer.
“Stay” hits include Sam Smith’s Stay With Me, Stay Another Day by East 17 and the 1991 hit Stay, by Shakespeare’s Sister. Among the most popular “go” songs were the Queen classic The Show Must Go On, Fleetwood Mac’s Go Your Own Way and Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me, by Elton John and George Michael.
Tom Rainsford, brand director at giffgaff said: ‘The freedom of staying or going has clearly been an inspiration for many musicians. It’s interesting that Brits have chosen songs from across the decades as their favourites – Rihanna is in there right alongside the likes of Fleetwood Mac. We actually chose to soundtrack our new campaign film with one of the top 20 songs, the Walker Brothers’ Stay With Me Baby.”
