Going from hazy shades of winter to crazy days of summer, we’re already fantasising about the never-ending cycle of summer nights that feature in the new film showcasing the SS15 Collection of Sunglasses from Marc by Marc Jacobs.
An anthem to summers in Southern California – its steamy nights and long hot days – ‘The Feeling’ was shot in the San Fernando Valley.
It has ‘California Dreaming’ written all over it. Wistful, relaxed and carefree, the short directed by Matt Lambert takes us through a day idling around steamy suburbs with friends to an afternoon get-together by the pool that transforms into a spontaneous celebration with the effortless energy and hedonism of youth.
The languid daytime guitar morphs into energetic nightime beats. The party momentarily goes still before cycling back to the lazy daytime rhythm as the first rays flickers through the blinds. That’s when you realise in an out-of-focus awakening that morning has come too soon. But there’s a final indulgence in store in an endless sunrise that when shared with friends will erase the hangover that in a lesser climate would last for hours.
The Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2015 eyewear collection lounges easily in the imagery, with a style that is young, carefree and non-conformist. Shapes are daringly geometric or rounded.
