The relationship between luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer and racing has been long and illustrious.
Famed for its expertise in timekeeping the company received a patent for the first dashboard chronograph back in 1911.They became well known for their accuracy and reliability amongst racing teams and drivers across the world.
This long history between the brand and racing is still as strong today and is embodied in the much loved timepiece the TAG Heuer Formula 1. Launched 30 years ago now the watch has become something of a classic amongst men who love their sports and demand a lot from a watch. It’s always been known as a high-performance timepiece that never fails and looks the part on the wrist.
TAG Heuer though are not ones to live on past glories. Together with The Watch Gallery they have put all their technical and stylistic know-how into producing a stunning limited edition version of the classic timepiece – The TAG Heuer Formula 1 TWG Limited Edition. This is a seriously good looking watch that takes the long established credentials of the watch and its intrinsic quality but then casts it in a whole new light. With is sapphire blue aluminium bezel and chronograph contrasted with the slick black dial it creates a stir with its suave new look.
It’s still though a serious piece of timekeeping kit. It features 1/10th of a second chronograph, the running second counter at 3 o’clock, an hour chronograph counter at 6 o’clock, the minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock and a tachymeter scale to the bezel. So you it will still measure time whether it’s for that next meeting or that last dazzling lap of the track as well as it has always done. But it’s also a stylish piece of kit. It won’t let you down on any occasion be it behind the wheel of a high powered racing car or the dinner celebrations taking place afterwards.
